  1. This series is just wonderful! I've sewn for 15 years, but I can see I still have much to learn :)

  2. OMG! I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this series and can't wait for the next installment. I have been teaching my granddaughters to sew and was trying to find a great reference without over whelming them. I was even thinking of writing one for them because I couldn't find a "friend" to sit by them when I wasn't there. So, I know how much planning, thought and writing has gone into your work. It is such a superior instruction series; clear, thorough, very easy to read and fun.

I will print this and have it bound into a spiral book for them. But, honestly, I feel as if I am stealing! (I hope that it's not!) Please give some thought to publishing the series once you are done; exactly as written in your blog. After looking for just this kind of assistance I know there is a need. It reads as though you do have a friend sitting next to you; not only showing the next step but "tips" you won't readily learn from most sewing instructions.

I especially loved the instruction of cutting away the cutting line. So many who sew do not know to do this. Your expertise shares such wonderful core knowledge and makes for good habits at the start. It's these tips that insure sewing is a joy.

Thank you so very much for your generosity of time and experience!

  3. You never know what the future will bring, Doreen. I thank you for bringing your granddaughters in to the fold. This is why I am doing this. I want them to have the knowledge a good close friend who sews would give them, the little tricks and lessons that can take you years to find out. I am so glad you are following along. I will do my best to keep the posts coming. In the meantime, this is a "book" for my granddaughters too!
